The 2015 BET Awards was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on June 28, 2015 and was televised on BET. This year marked the ceremony's 15th anniversary and the milestone was celebrated throughout the show, which was hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.[1]

The nominees were announced on May 18, 2015. Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown lead the nominations with six each. Beyoncé and Lil Wayne followed with four each. Beyoncé was the big winner of the night with 3 awards, including Video of the Year for 7/11. Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown both won 2 each. Smokey Robinson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Janet Jackson was honored with the inaugural Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award. Radio host Tom Joyner was also honored, receiving the Humanitarian Award.

Anthony Andrew Anderson[1] (born August 15, 1970) is an American actor and writer, and the star of ABC's Black-ish Where he is was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, And is now nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also starred in his own sitcom, All About the Andersons, as well as the Fox sitcom The Bernie Mac Show during the fifth and final season of the show. He is also known for his leading roles in television dramas such as K-Ville, The Shield and as NYPD Detective Kevin Bernard on the television legal drama Law & Order. He has also had supporting roles in films such as Me, Myself & Irene, Transformers, The Departed, Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London, Scream 4, and Kangaroo Jack. Anderson is also is a regular judge on the Food Network's hit show, Iron Chef America.


Tracee Ellis Ross (born October 29, 1972) is an American actress, model, comedian, producer and television host.[1]

The daughter of singer/actress Diana Ross, Ross began her career acting in independent films, variety series and hosted the pop-culture magazine The Dish on Lifetime. She is known for her lead role as Joan Clayton on the UPN/CW comedy series Girlfriends. She starred in the show from 2000 to 2008. She starred in the 2007 comedy-drama film Daddy's Little Girls, and in 2011 had a leading role as Dr. Carla Reed on the BET sitcom Reed Between the Lines. In 2014, Ross began starring as Dr. Rainbow Johnson in the ABC comedy series Black-ish.
