Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978),[2] better known by his stage name Diplo, is an American DJ, record producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and record executive based in Los Angeles, California. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project, Major Lazer, and along with producer and DJ Skrillex, formed the electronic duo Jack Ü. He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. Among other jobs, he has worked as a schoolteacher in Philadelphia. His 2013 EP Revolution debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The song was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.

During his rise to fame, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with giving him exposure in his early career. Later, he and fellow M.I.A. producer Switch created a Jamaican dancehall project and cartoon series titled Major Lazer.[3] Since then, Diplo has worked on production and mixtape projects with many other pop artists, such as Gwen Stefani, M.I.A., Die Antwoord, Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Banda Uó, Beyoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Wale, Big Sean, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, CL, Ellie Goulding, , Sean Paul and G-Dragon.[4][5][6][7][8] His alias, short for Diplodocus, derives from his childhood fascination with dinosaurs.[9] Diplo co-produced several tracks on Madonna's thirteenth studio album Rebel Heart (2015). He is the co-producer of two tracks on Beyonce's sixth studio album "Lemonade" (2016).

The Chainsmokers are an American DJ duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall.

The duo had a top twenty single in several countries with their 2014 song "#Selfie", reaching number sixteen on the US Billboard Hot 100, number three in Australia, and number eleven in the United Kingdom. They released their debut EP, Bouquet, in October 2015. Their following single "Roses" reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100,[1] while "Don't Let Me Down" became their first top 5 single. "Closer", featuring vocals from Halsey, became their first number-one single on the chart.[2]

Fifth Harmony is an American girl group formed on the second season of the The X Factor USA in July 2012. The group consists of members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and previously, Camila Cabello, whose departure was announced on December 18, 2016. In January 2013, they signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid's record label, after finishing in third place on the show.

Following their exit from The X Factor, they released their debut single "Miss Movin' On", which was certified gold by the RIAA. Its music video won the group the MTV Video Music Award for Artist to Watch.[2] Their debut EP, Better Together (2013), had a first week position of number six on the U.S. Billboard 200. The group released their debut studio album Reflection in 2015, debuting at number five on the Billboard 200 and receiving a gold certification from the RIAA.[3] The album included the platinum singles "Boss", "Sledgehammer" and "Worth It". The latter achieved triple platinum certification in the U.S. and reached the top 10 in thirteen countries. "Work from Home", the lead single from their sophomore album 7/27 (2016), became the group's first top 10 single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100[4] and the first top 5 by a girl group in a decade in that chart.[5]

Their accolades include an iHeartRadio Music Award, three MTV Europe Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Award, an American Music Award, a Billboard Women in Music award and seven Teen Choice Awards. With 10 million certified records (sales plus streaming-equivalent units) in the United States, Fifth Harmony has emerged as the most successful alumni from the X Factor U.S. franchise.[6][7]
